Best AI Humanizers of 2026: 10 Tools Tested Against Real Detectors
The best AI humanizers of 2026, ranked from our own detector tests. HumanizerPRO scored 0% AI on Turnitin; SuperHumanizer is the best free pick. See all 10.

The best AI humanizer in 2026 is HumanizerPRO, followed by the best free option we've found and StealthWriter for GPTZero specifically. We ranked them based on our own detector tests. In HumanizerPRO's August 2025 test, a 502-word text came back 0% AI on Turnitin after humanizing. Most other tools we tested still scored 45% to 100% AI on at least one major detector.
Key takeaways
- Best overall: HumanizerPRO, which combines a paragraph-level humanizer with an AI detector, plagiarism checker and fact checker.
- Best free: our #2 pick needs no signup and handles up to 1,200 words per request.
- Best for GPTZero: StealthWriter cut GPTZero from 100% to about 10% AI in our test.
- Paraphrasers like QuillBot and Grammarly polish text well but didn't get past detectors in our tests.
- No humanizer passes every detector every time. Always check the result with the detector that matters to you.

How we tested
Since 2025, the HumanizerPRO team has run each humanizer on AI-generated text, usually from GPT-4, and checked the output with the detectors people actually face: Turnitin, GPTZero, Originality.ai, Copyleaks and ZeroGPT. We also read every output by hand, because a rewrite that passes a detector but reads badly isn't useful. Each tool's full review, linked below, has the screenshots and details.
Detector results are only a snapshot. Detectors change constantly, and the same text can get a different score from one detector to the next, so treat these results as a guide and always test your own content.
1. HumanizerPRO: best AI humanizer overall

HumanizerPRO (humanizerpro.ai) is an AI humanizer with a built-in AI detector, plagiarism checker and fact checker. It isn't related to Humanizer.pro, a different tool with a similar name (see how they compare). It rewrites text paragraph by paragraph with fine-tuned models, so headings and lists keep their place and each rewrite stays focused. You can choose Basic, Standard or Advanced mode and set a tone such as academic, formal, casual, blog or marketing. We build it, so we've ranked it on the strength of the test below and are upfront about where it struggles.
In our August 2025 test, we took a 502-word text that Turnitin had flagged as 50% AI and humanized it with HumanizerPRO. Turnitin then reported it as 0% AI, and that score covers Turnitin's category for AI-paraphrased text, the one it uses to catch humanizers.

No humanizer is a catch-all solution, though. On Originality.ai, the harshest detector in our test set, text rewritten in HumanizerPRO's Standard mode was still rated 71% AI. If Originality.ai is your concern, complement any humanizer with your own manual edits, as we explain in our Originality.ai review.
| Plan | Price | Words per month | Words per request |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 500 without an account, 1,000 with one | 500 |
| Basic | $12/month or $84/year | 15,000 | 600 |
| Pro | $19/month or $144/year | 50,000 | 1,200 |
| Advanced | $39/month or $228/year | About 167,000 (2 million a year) | 3,000 |
Best for: students, marketers and publishers who want to humanize text and then check it for AI detection, plagiarism and accuracy in one place. Developers can use the same tools through the HumanizerPRO API. Try the AI humanizer free.
2. SuperHumanizer: best free AI humanizer

This is our sister product and the best free option we know of. In our September 2026 test of free AI humanizers, it was the only free tool that passed both GPTZero (3% AI) and ZeroGPT (0% AI). It works without an account or credit card, takes up to 1,200 words per request, and offers two modes: Super Lite for quick polishing and Super Ultra for deeper rewrites. You can pick a tone, regenerate individual sentences, and use it on the web, as a Chrome extension or in its Android and iOS apps. In our test, its rewrite scored 100% human on ZeroGPT.
Best for: anyone who wants a capable free AI humanizer with no signup. Read our full SuperHumanizer review.
3. StealthWriter: best for GPTZero
StealthWriter produced one of the best GPTZero results we've seen, knocking a sample from 100% AI down to about 10%. Stricter detectors were another story: Originality.ai still rated the same text 78% AI. The free plan is generous, with ten humanizations a day of up to 1,000 words each, but paid plans start at $20 a month.
Best for: lowering GPTZero scores on blogs and emails. See our StealthWriter review.
4. Walter Writes AI: best budget option for polishing

Walter Writes produces smooth, readable rewrites at a low price, from about $8 a month billed yearly for 30,000 words. Detection results were mixed: Originality.ai rated its rewrite 45% AI, but Copyleaks still flagged the same text as 100% AI.
Best for: cheap polishing of blog posts and emails. See our Walter Writes review and our list of free WalterWrites alternatives.
5. Undetectable AI: best for non-English text
Undetectable AI is one of the best-known humanizers and supports more than 50 languages, so it makes sense even when you're not writing in English. In our tests it didn't get past the strict detectors: GPTZero rated its rewrites about 50/50, and Originality.ai flagged 71% to 88% of the text as AI. Paid plans start at about $5 a month billed annually, after a one-time free trial of 250 words.
Best for: multilingual users on a budget. See our Undetectable AI review.
6. WriteHuman: good for short, informal rewrites

WriteHuman passed GPTZero and ZeroGPT (0% AI) in our September 2026 test, and GPTZero and Originality.ai in an earlier one, but Copyleaks flagged it 100% AI. Its output quality was only 6/10: it dropped key facts and added a detail that wasn't in the original. It charges per request rather than per word, from $12 a month paid annually, and the free plan gives you 3 requests a month.
Best for: quick rewrites of social posts and informal content. See our WriteHuman review.
7. Humbot: best as a study-tool bundle
Humbot combines a humanizer with a translator, citation generator, summarizer and other tools for schoolwork. On a short sample, GPTZero rated its strongest rewrite 45% AI and 55% human, an uncertain result. The rewrites read more like paraphrasing, and the entry plan limits each request to 500 words.
Best for: students who want lots of light tools in a single subscription. See our Humbot review.
8. QuillBot: best for grammar, not detection
QuillBot is an excellent paraphraser and grammar checker, and its humanizer now asks you to create a free account before it runs. As a humanizer, though, it kept the sentence patterns detectors look for: Originality.ai rated its output 96% AI and GPTZero flagged all of it.
Best for: grammar and clarity after you've humanized a draft. See our QuillBot humanizer test.
9. Clever AI Humanizer: free with no sign-up, but slow
Clever AI Humanizer is completely free, needs no sign-up, has no monthly word cap and accepts up to 3,000 words per request. In our September 2026 test, its output passed ZeroGPT at 11.3% AI. That's where the good news ends: GPTZero rated the same output 100% AI and flagged it as AI paraphrasing, and Sapling scored it 95.2% AI.
The drawbacks showed up in speed and quality. It took 30 to 60 seconds to humanize our 306-word test text, where SuperHumanizer finished the same text in under 20 seconds. The writing wasn't up to the mark either: it turned precise statements into vague filler ("each of these proteins appears to indicate something about the body's state") and added claims that weren't in the original, such as helping people "prolong their youth". That makes it a poor fit for technical and academic content, where precision matters.
Best for: casual emails and posts where passing GPTZero doesn't matter and you don't want to sign up. For anything more demanding, SuperHumanizer is the better free choice: it's faster, scored 3% AI on GPTZero in our tests, and handles everything from casual posts to essays and technical writing. See our full Clever AI Humanizer review.
10. UnAIMyText: good, but its best mode is paid
UnAIMyText is a solid humanizer. Without an account, it humanized our full 306-word test text in its Standard mode, kept almost all of the original meaning, including details other tools dropped, and scored 0% AI on ZeroGPT and 0.1% on Sapling. GPTZero, though, still rated its free Standard output 100% AI and flagged it as AI paraphrasing.
The other catch is the limits. Without paying, each input is capped at 500 words and you only get Standard mode; its stronger Ultra mode and 2,000-word inputs are reserved for the paid Pro plan. The Standard output also had grammar slips, such as "This is different a blood test" and "said to supposedly", that you'd need to fix before using it.
Best for: short texts under 500 words where keeping the meaning matters more than passing GPTZero. See our full UnAIMyText review.
Tools we don't recommend for passing detectors
Three popular tools performed badly in our tests:
- BypassGPT. Still scored 90% to 100% AI on GPTZero, Winston AI and Originality.ai after its strongest rewrite. Full review.
- Rewritify. GPTZero stayed at 100% AI after its most aggressive mode. Full review.
- Grammarly's AI Humanizer. Grammarly says it isn't built to bypass detectors. In our September 2026 test, GPTZero still scored its output 100% AI and flagged it as AI paraphrasing. Full review.
How to choose an AI humanizer
- You need to pass Turnitin or GPTZero: use a real humanizer, not a paraphraser, and check the result yourself. HumanizerPRO is our top pick.
- You want it free: our #2 pick, or HumanizerPRO's free tier if you also want an AI detector.
- You write in another language: HumanizerPRO works in 8 site languages and 30+ through its API, and Undetectable AI supports 50+.
- You're a developer: compare the options in our guide to AI humanizer APIs.
- You just want better grammar: QuillBot or Grammarly, after humanizing.
Whichever tool you use, add your own examples and opinions, and follow your school's or client's rules on AI. If you're new to this, start with what AI humanization is and how to humanize ChatGPT content.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best AI humanizer in 2026?
HumanizerPRO is the best overall AI humanizer in our tests. It rewrites text paragraph by paragraph, includes an AI detector, plagiarism checker and fact checker, and in our August 2025 test turned a text Turnitin flagged as 50% AI into a 0% AI result.
What is the best free AI humanizer?
SuperHumanizer is easily the best free option we've found: no account required, up to 1,200 words per request and two rewrite modes. HumanizerPRO also has a free tier of 500 words with no signup, or 1,000 words a month with a free account.
Which AI humanizer bypasses Turnitin?
In our August 2025 test, text humanized with HumanizerPRO scored 0% AI on Turnitin, including Turnitin's AI-paraphrasing detection. Turnitin is constantly updated, so no tool can promise the same result every time.
Which AI humanizer works best for GPTZero?
StealthWriter and HumanizerPRO performed best in our tests. StealthWriter cut GPTZero from 100% to about 10% AI. Paraphrasers such as QuillBot and Rewritify barely moved GPTZero at all.
Are AI humanizers the same as paraphrasers?
No. A paraphraser swaps words while keeping each sentence's structure, so detectors still see AI patterns. A humanizer rebuilds rhythm, sentence length and structure while keeping the meaning. We compare them in AI humanizers vs. paraphrasing tools.
